Patrons are required to have proof of address, such as a driver’s license, utility bill or lease. Children, ages up to and including 11, need their application signed by a parent or guardian. Montclair taxpayers who reside elsewhere will have to present a copy of the current quarter’s Tax Bill from the Township of Montclair, along with their personal identification. The card will expire three years from the date of issue.
Acceptable identification is a pay stub or a completed “Works in Montclair Form” as well as a driver’s license for home address. The courtesy card will expire one year from the date of issue.
Teachers and employees of Montclair schools are eligible for a one-year courtesy card. To apply for a card, please fill out the Montclair Teacher/School Employee Library Card Application.
For those students who go to school in Montclair but live elsewhere, acceptable verification is a tuition bill, printed schedule, or report card.
From September to May, student library cards will be delivered to the student’s school’s main office during the last week of the month. The cards will then be distributed by the main office to the students. If a library card is needed sooner or you prefer to receive your card directly, please come into the Library and register in person.
