The Montclair Institute for Lifelong Learning (The MILL) is part of the Township’s Lifelong Montclair aging in place initiative and is a collaboration of Adult School Department of the MPL, Montclair Art Museum, YMCA, Montclair History Center, Montclair State University, Connections at Home. The MILL is funded in part by the Partners for Health Foundation, the Township of Montclair, and the community. The goal of the MILL is to foster opportunities for in-depth, high-level learning and socialization for 55+ adults offered at different locations throughout Montclair. These classes are free of charge, but registration is required.

The United Methodist Communities at PineRidge of Montclair, in collaboration with MPL and AngelaCARES, hosts a resource center for seniors in MPL’s Senior Space. The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about their health insurance. SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
At this time, the Montclair Public Library is providing referrals for SHIP counseling via email or phone call. Please keep in mind that our counselor can only help with Medicare. To receive a referral, call the Reference Desk at 973-744-0500 x2235 or email reference@montclairlibrary.org.

Members meet at the Montclair Public Library on the first Monday of each month from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.. When a holiday falls on the first Monday the meeting is on the second Monday; there is no December meeting.
