Adult Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutoring
LINK Language Learning offers a free program at First United Methodist Church of Montclair to help adult participants increase their spoken fluency through two levels of class. Childcare is provided. For more information, click here.
The Literacy Volunteers of America, Essex and Passaic Counties (LVA) provides programs for adults who need help with basic literacy skills or who are interested in learning English. Tutors are available by appointment to work with students one-on-one. To participate, call (973) 566-6200 ext. 217. For more information on LVA, click here.
There is also an English Conversation Group that meets every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s Conference Room. This is not an ESOL class, rather an informal group conversation aimed at improving your English speaking skills. This group is unaffiliated with LVA. For more information, please call 973-746-4319 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
