The Montclair Public Library Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that develops philanthropic support for the Montclair Public Library. Established in 2002, the MPL Foundation strives to increase funding for Library programs, collection enhancement, staff development, special projects and other critical needs that exceed municipal funding. Through the development of new financial resources, the MPL Foundation seeks to ensure that the Library meets the needs of its diverse community and maintains its stature as one of the foremost libraries in the State of New Jersey.
We depend on support from generous individuals like you to help fund our collections, weekend hours, Summer Reading Program, Museum Passes, classes and programs for adults, online tutoring, job search resources, access to the internet, literacy classes, our open Book / Open Mind series, and so much more. Your gift helps keep these vital services FREE for the Montclair community.
Many companies have a matching gift program; you give an amount and they donate the same. All you have to do is ask. 100% of both donations directly fund the Montclair Public Library.
Did you know there are creative ways to support Montclair Public Library? Ways in which Montclair Public Library, you and your loved ones all benefit at the same time?
Such giving techniques are called “planned gifts”, because with thoughtful planning, you create win-win solutions for you and Montclair Public Library.
Gifts to our annual appeal are the simplest, most direct means of support for the Foundation. The donor is entitled to an income tax deduction of the entire amount of the gift, providing deductions are itemized and do not exceed certain limits. Such unrestricted gifts allow the library to address its most pressing needs.
Libraries are of great importance to individuals and they are fundamental to strong communities. They are the keepers of our stories and the source of information for everyone. In an era when education is essential, they help ensure equality of access. The Montclair Public Library makes books, audio books, movies, and computers available to every member of our community. Our library makes information available at everyone’s fingertips either in one of our two beautiful buildings or via the Internet. Our library also provides an exceptional staff to keep the library vital.
Engraved bricks make a meaningful and unique way to say congratulations on a birthday, graduation, anniversary Mother’s or Father’s Day or other significant life moment. They make a thoughtful gesture in someone’s memory or simply tell someone you appreciate them and all that they do. Bricks will be laid in the Plaza of the Main Library at 50 South Fullerton Avenue.
When you think of giving, think of giving an unusual and eloquent gift that does good work at the same time. Proceeds from the engraved bricks are used to enhance the Library’s collection of books, widen the scope of activities available to youth, children and seniors and, in general, do many worthwhile and important things at our library that just are not possible otherwise.
So, consider adding your name to the long list of those who have already helped “Pave the Way” to an exceptional and outstanding Library.
If you like, we will send the honoree a Certificate of Recognition or we will send it to you for your personal presentation.
Boiling Springs Savings Bank developed its Community Alliance Program (CAP) to help non-profit organizations raise funds. This program allows account holders to contribute to the Montclair Public Library Foundation at no cost. Any savings or checking account holders at the bank can designate the Foundation as the CAP organization they wish to support. We have not met the initial minimum number of accounts in order to receive a quarterly donation from the bank based on the balances in these accounts. We just need six more! There is no cost to the account holders, and the Foundation will have more funds to support the library’s programs and services. Please consider designating an existing account or opening a new one to support the Library.
